Hi, my name is Elara!
And this is my little corner of the internet.
I’m the voice, chef, and creator behind Chef Elara Stone. What started as a love for cooking in my family kitchen has grown into a lifelong journey of creating recipes, crafting menus, and building a community around food.
I live in Portland, Oregon, with my husband and our very spoiled rescue pup, Olive. My favorite things in life are lazy Sunday mornings at the farmers’ market, strong cups of coffee, and a perfectly roasted chicken with crispy golden skin.
I Love Food!
Here you’ll find recipes that are flavorful, approachable, and full of heart. I believe food should be both exciting and doable — the kind of dishes that bring comfort on weeknights, joy on weekends, and inspiration for every season in between.
My cooking style blends classic techniques with bold flavors, drawing from Mediterranean, West Coast, and global influences. Whether it’s a simple pasta tossed with fresh herbs or a vibrant feast for friends, my goal is to help you create meals that feel special without being intimidating.
Going Deeper
Beyond recipes, I share glimpses of my life outside the kitchen:
-
Travel – from exploring the spice markets of Marrakech to discovering hidden food gems on the Oregon coast, travel shapes my cooking.
-
Family & Friends – sharing meals around the table is why I fell in love with cooking in the first place.
-
Lifestyle – market hauls, seasonal ingredients, and behind-the-scenes moments from my chef life.
My Work
Over the years, I’ve worked in farm-to-table restaurants, collaborated with local growers, and hosted pop-up dinners that celebrate seasonal cooking. My recipes and work have been featured in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, and regional magazines across the Pacific Northwest.
Today, this site is where I bring all of that experience together — a space to share not just recipes, but the inspiration, stories, and community behind them.
Let’s Connect
I’d love to see what you’re cooking!
